The very first LGBT Family Day at the Maryland Zoo is happening on Sunday, August 25th! Join FreeState Justice and the LGBTQ+ Maryland community for a day of community and fun!
Grab a blanket and join other LGBTQ+ families, friends, and allies at the Maryland Zoo’s beautiful Waterfowl Pavilion. From 11am-3pm, there will be food trucks, lawn games, family friendly activities, and of course, the whole cast of animal characters who make the zoo their home. Take part in a scavenger hunt, get your face painted, or take a snooze in the shade of the pavilion.
Friends and families of all ages are welcome.
All proceeds from the day will benefit FreeState Justice’s vital services for Maryland’s LGBTQ+ community.

The Fine Print: Purchase your ticket online via our Eventbrite page to secure your spot. This is an alcohol free event, but pack whatever other goodies and snacks you want for your picnic basket! Details for parking, picnic ideas, and maps for finding the pavilion coming soon!
