Share Your Story with FreeState

FreeState's Policy Team needs your help to champion better legislative protections for LGBTQIA+ Marylanders!

In this legislative session, a group of Maryland legislators are pushing to ban trans kids from sports. We want to prevent the ability for this by passing the Inclusive Schools Act (SB0666/HB850). When bills are proposed in Annapolis that support or attack LGBTQIA+ communities in Maryland, FreeState’s Policy Team shares testimonies that help legislators better understand the importance and urgency of the bills we are pushing for.  Connecting legislators with real stories is a powerful way to advocate for LGBTQIA+ communities in our state, but we can’t do this work without your help! We’ve created this form so that you can share your story – anonymously if you wish – to help support legislation that will improve the wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ folks in Maryland.

A full list of this year’s policy priorities can be found here. Right now we are particularly interested in stories that support the improvement of confinement conditions for incarcerated LGBTQIA+ folks, the Inclusive Schools Act, and increasing access to PrEP/PEP. Use the form below to share with FreeState your experiences (or those of your family and friends) with discrimination in school, in the criminal and prison systems, and in accessing PrEP/PEP.
