This panel will be an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the historical contributions of black transgender and gender non-conforming folks. Panelists will share accounts of trans* and queer lives of color that have often been pushed to the side, as well as facilitate an open discussion on ways to build new trans* inclusive connections and alliances moving forward in the Black LGBTQ community.
Testing will be provided onsite by Chase Brexton.
The SpeakFire! Panel Series is a brave space for Black LGBTQ folks and allies to reflect on our histories of great resistance and love. The Center for Black Equity Baltimore and FreeState Legal Project have partnered together to host these panels with the understanding that the lives of all human beings matter.
