The Elders Speak

SpeakFire! Series

Join the SpeakFire! community for an exciting panel exploring the history of Black LGBTQ resistance in Baltimore. Elders will share their reflections, celebrate stories of movement building and share insight.

Panelists include:

Deborah Dunn, Medical Practitioner and Trans* Advocate 

Monica Yorkman, Founder and Director of Sistas of the “T”

Louis Hughes, Co-Founder of the GLCCB

Courtney Williams, Longtime Activist 

The panel will be moderated by Jamal Hailey, Director of STAR TRACK

The SpeakFire! Series is a brave space for Black LGBTQ folks and allies to reflect on our histories of great resistance and love. The Center for Black Equity Baltimore, FreeState Legal Project, Star Track Baltimore,Sistas of the “t”, and Black Transmen, Inc – Maryland/DC have partnered together to host these panels with the understanding that the lives of all human beings matter.

The panel will be on Thursday, June 10th in the Community Room of the Mt. Vernon Chase Brexton Building (1111 N. Charles Street), from 6:30 to 8 pm. Refreshments will be served.
