Victories and Celebrations

Leading up to to Pride season, we have reason to celebrate our community’s victories in Maryland

At today’s bill signing ceremony, Governor Hogan joined the General Assembly in supporting LGBTQ+ youth across Maryland by signing into law the Ending Youth Homelessness Act and a statewide ban on the debunked and harmful practice of conversion therapy on minors.  You can read our press release on the signing here.  This past legislative session, our legislature took up many important issues within the LGBTQ community.

As we approach Pride month in June, we hope you’ll consider celebrating our community’s victories at our upcoming Jazz Brunch.  This long-standing tradition is being revived on Saturday, June 2 at the Maryland Historical Society.  Join us for a champagne brunch, music, great company, and support our work ahead.

At this year’s Jazz Brunch, we will be honoring the contributions of several people and organizations.  You can read more about our honorees hereTickets for the Jazz Brunch can be purchased at our Eventbrite page. We hope to see you there!

Looking for other ways to get involved?  Consider volunteering with FreeState Justice at one of the several Pride celebrations across the state in the upcoming months.  The primary election is quickly approaching on June 26.  Make sure you are registered to vote!
