FreeState Justice provides free legal services, referrals, and community resources to LGBTQ+ Maryland residents. FreeState Justice is a grant-funded, non-profit organization, and your eligibility for direct legal services may be impacted by your LGBTQIA+ status, income level, household size, case type, and geographic residency, dictated by MLSC guidelines which you can find here.

For New Clients

Our office will be in touch with you via email or phone, after the service request form is completed. If you have multiple legal matters, please submit a separate intake form for each matter. If you would like assistance in submitting an intake form, please call Traé McWhite, Program Coordinator, at (443) 977-4243, or send an email to intake@freestate-justice.org. You may have someone else (therapist, case worker, family member, friend) submit a form on your behalf, if they include your contact information. You may submit an intake form in your native Language.
